Types of water heaters: Conventional storage water heaters

They are the most widely used type of water heater. Storage water heaters provide a ready reservoir of hot water that is ready to be released when the tap is turned on. They are either electric, which consumes electricity, or gas-powered, which is more cost-effective. They must be heated continuously and have an electronic thermostat that cuts off the power supply to the heating coils when the temperature reaches the set point. It has a high standby heat loss and is, therefore, more expensive to maintain because it uses energy to keep the water hot even when it is not in use.

2. Instant water heaters:

a. Instant Electric Water Heaters:

Tankless heaters, also known as on-demand water heaters, are those that do not require a storage tank. Tankless water heaters are gaining popularity as an alternative to storage tank models around the world. When you turn on the hot water, it activates an electric-powered heat exchanger (see how it works below) that quickly heats the water.

Tankless units, as opposed to constantly heating water in a stored tank, only heat water as needed. As a result, they use less energy than traditional storage water heaters. On the downside, a tankless system can be significantly more expensive than a tank-style water heater.

b. Instant Gas Water Heaters:

These tankless or on-demand water heaters are powered by gas, specifically liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) (LNG). When you turn on the hot water, it activates a gas-powered heat exchanger, which quickly heats the water. They use even less energy than instant electric water heaters.

3. Heat pump water heaters:

A heat pump is a type of water heater that transfers heat from the air to the water. It accomplishes this by capturing energy from the surrounding air and returning it to the heat pump's water tank. Because it uses electricity to move heat from one location to another rather than generate heat, the amount of electricity consumed is much lower – only one-fourth of that of other water heating devices – and so is the operating cost. To put it another way, they are three to four times more efficient than electric water heaters.

When purchasing a geyser, consider the power consumption, capacity, and time required to heat the water. If you want a water heater that will last a long time and will meet all of your hot water needs, consider the options listed below:
